School Library Association of Queensland Inc. (SLAQ)

SLAQ is the acronym for the School Library Association of Queensland. The association was founded in 1969 to provide opportunities for its members to work cooperatively within their educational settings through commitment to the development of students as lifelong learners.

The objectives of SLAQ are:

  1. ADVOCACY -- Advocate the critical role of teacher-librarians in schools in Queensland.
  2. COMMUNICATION -- Provide information to members.
  3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT -- Facilitate professional development for teacher-librarians in Queensland.
  4. PARTNERSHIPS -- Foster and strengthen relationships with other professional associations and relevant community groups.
