This space hosts information and documents for SLAQ Council members.
SLAQ started as an organization of a State Executive and up to four Branches with Sub-branches until 1991 when the association was incorporated and the organisation changed to a State Executive and a varying number of Subcommittees. Sub-branches and Subcommittees did not always have a formal committee structure that included all positions and the data collection reflects this. Unfortunately many of the records of the early days of the association have been destroyed and there are some significant gaps. SLAQ would be very happy to receive any information that would result in a more complete record of the association being documented. If you are able to assist please email the SLAQ Executive Officer.
SLAQ has published a history of teacher-librarianship in Queensland, Resourceful Partnerships: 1968-2008 (available here). To complement this publication, SLAQ presents a timeline of personnel and events over its history.
