MAJOR sponsor and Trade Exhibitor SYMONS EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES will be present for the three days of the conference and situated in the foyer of the theatre. The following firms will be exhibiting at the conference on Wednesday 30 June. There is provision on the session selection form for choosing the trade exhibition during the concurrent workshop sessions.

BOOTH 1: Nelson Australia Pty Ltd INSPIRING FUTURE GENERATIONS Thomson Learning Australia is a leading provider of learning solutions in schools and higher education in Australia and New Zealand. Nelson, Thomson Learning’s school division, is Australia’s leading school publisher, providing a comprehensive range of resources. These include the following: guided reading and guided writing; shared reading; interactive and online learning; mathematics; science; SOSE/HSIE; assessment; indigenous products. The new primary website, launched in 2002, has been designed to help teachers find the books and teacher resources required to meet the learning needs of their students.

BOOTH 2: Network Educational Australia is a full-service educational bookseller located on the Gold Coast, but supplying Primary and High Schools throughout Queensland and all states of Australia. Available at the conference will be a selection of resources, and copies of our nationally acclaimed Buying Guides -- on the topics: Australian Library Resources for Primary School Libraries; Resources for Students with Reading Difficulties; Big Books for Classroom and Libraries; Australian Indigenous Resources. Our senior School Library Specialist, Allen Heald, will be in attendance with the display, ready to answer questions or help with any selections.

BOOTH 3: Just Imagine Bookshop is well-known to Queensland teacher-librarians. Yvonne has been a constant supporter of and contributor to School Library Association conferences over a number of years. BOOTH 4: Children’s Book Council of Australia (Queensland branch) The Children's Book Council is an Australia-wide organisation which aims to foster children's enjoyment of books. On a national level, the organisation of the annual Children's Book of the Year Awards and Children's Book Week together with a biennial national conference focussing on children's literature are important ways of achieving this aim. The Branch is active in promoting children’s books at every opportunity. Information about children’s literature is disseminated through the newsletter, the website and speakers who address professional and community groups, as well as phone and fax enquiries through the office.

BOOTH 5: EBSCO Publishing To tie in with their concurrent session, EBSCO Publishing are displaying information about their Australia/NZ Reference Centre, which offers the largest collection of regional full-text content available to schools. The stand will be the place to pick up some brochures, setup a trial for your school and to see the comprehensive title list of ANZRC (over 530 full text titles). Of course, the stand will also be keen to hear feedback and answer any queries.

BOOTH 8: Webster Publishing WebsterWorld.com is Australia's ultimate online educational reference site created to Australian multimedia developer, Webster Publishing. Working closely with teachers for the past 18 years, we have developed the site to cater specifically for the needs of teachers and students, from K-12, within the Australian curriculum. WebsterWorld.com has extensive world coverage, but more Australian content than you will find anywhere else online. WebsterseLearning.com is a set of unique packages of Computer Based Training and ICT elearning (including the International Computer Driving Licence) for use within Australian primary and secondary schools. The packages have been designed to significantly ease the teacher workload in the ICT area with a series of examples and assignments in various Key Learning Areas.

BOOTH 9: Intuitive Information Retrieval provides software tools and support for use with various school and college library systems including:

Our smallest educational site has 6 students, whilst the largest has 1700. Several charity organisations and toy libraries are also using the system. Capra Ryan offer online courses nationally in Library & Information Services Certificates II, III, IV (Diploma pending accreditation) and Certificate III Education Support. Certificate IV LIS and ESIII are funded by the Commonwealth Government as traineeships for existing workers. Eligibility criteria apply. This funding, paid to the employer may be used to pay in full the tuition fees for library assistants and teacher aides. Students may also access the course as fee-paying students.
