ALDIS Associates Pty LtdALDIS Associates Pty Ltd is an independent Australian company that was set up in 2001. It represents Turnitin in the Pacific and East Asia regions.

Turnitin is an integrated, web-based solution which enables school and university/college instructors to check papers for unoriginal material, make comments and conduct peer reviews in a single, unified view of the student's fully-formatted paper. There are three modules.

OriginalityCheckR is the world's leading solution for detecting potential plagiarism. It makes sure students are aware of, and held to, the highest standards regarding proper research and citation makes a significant difference in their academic development.

GradeMarkR is the innovative online grading tool that allows instructors to deftly grade papers with greater flexibility than regular pen-and paper grading. GradeMark offers reusable comments, editing marks, and customised rubrics; every comment or editing mark placed with GradeMark can be edited, moved, or deleted at any time.

PeerMarkR online peer reviewing lets you organise students to review each other's work and deliver clear, timely comments. Austral EdAustral Ed specialises in supplying books to International Schools round the world and also to schools within Australia.  It was set up sixteen years ago by Kate Shepherd when she realised that overseas International Schools found it difficult to access Australian titles and were wanting recommendations of books with an international theme to help diversify their collections.

Since then Kate has compiled many lists of books that she recommends on a wide range of topics such as Children’s Books about Asia, about Africa, Early Childhood, Big books, Australian Fiction, Picture books and Australian Indigenous Peoples as well as books for the Primary Years and Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate.  These lists are much appreciated by librarians and teachers in schools within Australia and overseas.  Orders are sent efficiently and promptly to International Schools in about fifty countries around the world and also to schools throughout Australia.

Do come and visit us at the display at the Conference booth.  There will be a diverse range of books, both fiction and non-fiction, and many will have an international theme.

Ideal Plastic Concepts has solved the age old storage issue for schools wishing to store or transport performance risers.

The STAGEPAK system of interlocking modules is an extremely versatile product that allows schools to set up a number of useful structures depending on the occasion. Modules can be thought of as giant building blocks and can be used to erect choir risers in music rooms, seating auditoriums in library resource / AV rooms, conversation circles and corner news nooks in teaching areas and even be used to set up 3D art, science project or book displays on school open days.

STAGEPAK units can be disassembled into their component wall panels and deck to be flat packed if not required. This saves a whopping 75% in storage space compared to rigid boxes. Once assembled, units can be linked laterally and vertically like giant building blocks. The product was designed by a practising educational administrator in a West Australian primary school who saw a need for such a product in schools. STAGEPAK has been proudly designed and manufactured in Australia.

Library Webs

Library Webs present an online educational research service providing an Internet Library of over 330 topics containing approximately 72,000 carefully selected links. The resources are arranged in subject order with individual topics divided into sections. Users can search the database by keyword search or advanced search, by browsing the topic list, or by going straight into the subject categories. Topics have been chosen to relate directly to curricula and assignments in middle and secondary schools.

Teacher-Librarians using Library Webs will not have to spend hours searching for sites and creating webpages. By subscribing to Library Webs teacher-librarians will have more time to do what they do best – assisting students and teachers to find the right information at the right time, teaching critical thinking skills and taking a leadership role in the educational outcomes of their schools.

Library Webs resources can be used as a support to study units or as the central focus to a unit of work. Because of the division of each topic into sections, Library Webs provide a unique set of resources for group work, and offer a scaffolding tool for in-depth study.

Students using Library Webs have immediate access to authoritative Internet resources and are able to stay focused on their learning outcomes, without the distraction of all the extraneous and dubious material which is present on the Internet.
