Invitation

The School Library Association of Queensland (SLAQ) invites you to sponsor and/or exhibit at the 2012 State Conference to be held at the Pullman’s Reef Casino in Cairns, Queensland. The venue is located in the centre of Cairns, convenient to many types of accommodation. The Conference will be an occasion to enjoy the beautiful winter weather in Far North Qld, from 2 July to 5 July 2011 and liaise with delegates who will include teacher-librarians, teachers, principals and tertiary educators from government, Catholic and independent schools.

Sponsor and Exhibitor Benefits

Exhibiting and/or sponsoring at the 2012 conference has many benefits which include:

  • exposure to, and association with, SLAQ members from across Qld and beyond,
  • association with a professional development event that has a reputation for addressing leading edge issues,
  • promotion of your organisation as a major player committed to better education,
  • access to current and potential clients and decision makers in education and
  • sponsorship exposure through networking, and via printed materials, signage and announcements.

Marketing the Conference

To ensure maximum participation at the Conference, the event will be promoted through a variety of channels including:

  • email communications to SLAQ members and other potential delegates,
  • conference promotion on the SLAQ and other associated websites,
  • advertising in SLAQ Newsletter,
  • advertising in ACCESS – the national professional journal of school librarianship,
  • advertising in other state publications,
  • listings, editorials and advertisements via on-line communities.

Trade Exhibition

The trade exhibition will be held in a central location adjacent to the presentation rooms. Morning/afternoon teas and lunches will be served in the exhibition area to allow exhibitors to liaise with all delegates. Delegates will be encouraged with special promotions to view all exhibitions.

Exhibitor Package

The Exhibitor package includes:

  • Framelock Booth 2.4m x 2.4m covered in grey Velcro receptive fabric
  • Inside measurements 2320mm x 2320mm
  • Company sign
  • Table and 2 chairs
  • One 4 amp general purpose power outlet
  • 1 set dual 60 watt spotlights (directional)
  • Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for two representatives on each applicable day
  • Two complimentary tickets to the Welcome Reception
  • Name badge for each representative as listed on the application form
  • One Conference satchel
  • Company logo and link to company website on trade exhibitor page on the conference website
  • Company logo and information in the conference program.

Fees

  • The fee per booth is AUD $1650 gst incl.
  • Multiple booths may be booked.
  • All company representatives must be registered to gain access to the exhibition area.
  • Organizations can purchase Exhibitor Registrations for additional staff members.
  • Additional furniture and equipment can be hired from the exhibition contractor.
  • FNQEvents will contact each exhibitor directly to:
    • Provide a furniture catalogue for direct hire of trade exhibition furniture or equipment
    • Request power loading and correct company name to be displayed on fascia.

Your company/organization may wish to sponsor or partially sponsor a specific event or product. Sponsorship will be acknowledged verbally and in print and on the conference website.  Choose one or more of these sponsorship opportunities which include, but are not limited to:

Cancellation Policy

If the sponsorship item or booth/floor space can be resold to another company, the company will receive a full refund of deposits paid, less administrative fees of 10% of the total sponsorship or exhibition rate. If not able to be resold, the company will be liable to pay the following fees:

  • cancellations received before 19 June 2012 will attract an administration fee of $330
  • no refunds will be made for cancellations received after 19 June 2012.

Any refunds of deposits paid will be made after the Conference but no later than 31 December 2012. The company will not be entitled to any interest that the organiser may have derived from deposits made by the company. All bank charges, including senders and receiver’s charges, resulting from a refund related to cancellation of a sponsorship/exhibition items will be passed on to the sponsor/exhibitor.
