Dr Roy Lundin Memorial Address

Roy Lundin

Dr Roy Lundin was a member of the first course for teacher-librarians held in Queensland. His vision and inspiration has had a profound effect on all those who had the privilege of working with him.

In the words of Brian Bahnisch, ‘Roy’s true legacy lies in his empathy for his fellows and the way his ideas and personality touched and motivated them. In a real sense Roy lived the philosophy of teacher-librarianship: the sharing, the interdependence, the mutuality and the joy in the achievement of others: the maximising of access to recorded human experience in whatever format'.

Roy’s influence will be commemorated biennially through the Dr Roy Lundin Memorial Address on ICTs, technology, teacher-librarianship to be delivered by a nominated speaker in the second major keynote address at the biennial SLAQ Conference.

The Inaugural Roy Lundin Memorial Address was presented on Tuesday 26 September 2006 by Lyn Hay, Lecturer, from Charles Sturt University
