Every financial member of SLAQ is entitled to a copy of the newsletter that is published 4 times a year – one per term.

The newsletter provides a forum for the dissemination of information and encourages networking by individuals and groups around the state. Articles tend to be of a more practical nature than those in the national journal (Access) and include reports on activities of the association including subcommittees in both regional and metropolitan areas. (These reports form the basis of the Buzz section in the national journal that is compiled by the publications editor and submitted through the ASLA delegate responsible for liaising with the Access editor.) Dates of SLAQ events and others of particular interest to members may be sent for inclusion in the Diary (both in the newsletter and on the website).

Copy dates for the next two Newsletters are published in each issue but generally they tend to fall about six weeks before the end of the term. Copy should be sent either by disk or email to the Executive Officer as a MS Word document in Times New Roman, 11pt and unformatted except for carriage returns and headings. Each photo, original drawing or cartoon, table or figure should be sent as separate attachments. Electronic graphics must be of high resolution and clearance must be given before any copyright material is included. Photos (a gloss finish is preferred) can be sent by mail for scanning.
