The SLAQ2012 conference committee is excited to announce the keynote speakers for your Northern Escape: Connect Create Challenge to be held in Cairns on 3-5 July 2012. Mark your diaries and begin making plans – this is a busy tourist time in Cairns as our southern friends make their way north for the tropical warmth and hospitality.

  • Conferences and festivals: Ipswich Festival of Children’s Literature
A very successful festival was held this year with 9177 children meeting authors and illustrators and storytellers across 10 days of celebration. This is a free festival and some schools received sponsorship for buses to enable children from flood affected areas to attend. Every author and illustrator who took part was amazed at the size of the festival, that it was free for children and that it presented an opportunity to network with other authors and illustrators.

About the Newsletter

The role of the newsletter  is to record and reflect what is happening in the field of teacher-librarianship in Queensland. It provides a forum for the dissemination of information and encourages networking by individuals and groups around the state. Articles tend to be of a more practical nature than those in the national journal (Access). Number of issues: 4 per annum, one per school term.
